Event Wave was thrilled to provide comprehensive audio services for an inspiring private event at National University in San Diego. Oprah Winfrey, the No. 1-rated talk show host, addressed an auditorium of 100 students, with tens of thousands more tuning in via webcast.
Event Wave mixed not only the audio in the auditorium, but also the webcast heard by thousands of students remotely. During a Q&A segment, students from remote cities were able to converse live with Winfrey via Skype connections. Event Wave expertly created multiple “mix-minuses” on a Yamaha QL1 digital console to allow all remote listeners and questioners to hear clear, echo-free audio.
Through the use of Dante digital audio networking, dozens of channels of pristine digital audio were transported throughout the venue using low-profile CAT5 cables. This method of transport eliminated the need for bulky audio snakes to mar the look of the wood- and glass-adorned auditorium.
